Sumeet Thareja, MD

As the founding director of Indigo Dermatology in Tampa, Melbourne, and Palm Bay, Florida, Sumeet Thareja, MD, provides a complete menu of medical and aesthetic skin care services to residents in the greater central Florida area. He’s passionate about increasing skin cancer awareness and dedicated to educating the community about general skin health.

Dr. Thareja is a dermatologist and skin cancer surgeon who specializes in advanced skin cancer treatments and hair loss. His interest in dermatology stems from skin disease and the psychological burden it creates. He strives to alleviate this burden by helping his patients look and feel their best.

After finishing his undergraduate studies at the University of Miami, Dr. Thareja obtained his medical degree and completed his residency at the University of South Florida. He went on to practice dermatology at the James A. Haley VA Department of Dermatology in Tampa, where helped to treat the veterans in the Tampa Bay area.

In addition to being board-certified by the American Board of Dermatology, Dr. Thareja is a member of the American Academy of Dermatology and the American Society of Mohs Surgery.

Shalini Thareja Batra, MD

Aesthetic Specialist & Board Certified Dermatologist located in Melbourne, FL and Tampa, FL

Dr. Shalini Batra completed her dermatology residency training at Florida State University after completing medical school and an internal medicine internship at Emory University in Atlanta, GA. She completed a one-year pre-doctoral dermatology internship during medical school at Northwestern University in Chicago focused on women’s vulvar dermatological disease.  Her undergraduate study was at Columbia University in the City of New York.

Dr. Shalini Batra has published several dermatological papers in the Journal of the American Academy of Dermatology (JAAD) and Journal of the American Medical Association in Dermatology (JAMA Dermatology) while also presenting at numerous influential academic conferences. In addition, she has authored a dermatology textbook chapter on keloids.

Dr. Shalini Batra holds a 3-year board position on the Young Physicians, Residents, and Fellows committee of the Women’s Dermatologic Society. She also is a member of the social media committee for the American Society of Dermatologic Surgery.

Her clinical interests include general dermatology, skin cancer, dermatologic surgery and reconstruction, cosmetics, keloids, and vulvar dermatology.

Dr. Shalini Batra is originally from Melbourne, Florida. In her free time, she enjoys going to the beach, meditation, yoga, and travel. She hopes to learn how to scuba dive in the future.
